John brings Jo in through a door on some random planet they had stopped at for some R&R. He doesn't have to keep a hand on hers, but he does...just in case. There are plenty of sketchy people around here who would like nothing more than to steal such a pretty blonde.
They make it back to the shuttle fine, and head back up to Moya. John's formulating a story about Jo for the crew and at the same time, trying to explain things to Jo without crashing them into the side of Moya (he uses his hands a lot ok).
"Okay, so there's D'argo, the big guy with tentacles on his face...Jool, the crazy shrieky redhead, Chiana, she's the grey one...and Rygel is the frog lookin' thing that is really annoying. Pilot uh...is the pilot. Moya the ship. Have I missed anything?"

But it slipped a few times in awe and surprise here and there.
And she's still taking in the huge ship they're approaching. And dodging.

"See? We're alive. So no more backtalkin'."

It isn't as if she insulted the size of his penis.
She'd be sure to let him be all bitchy if it came to that.
But even her tone sounds distracted, as she's peering out the tiny ship.
Another space ship and this was was alive and not at all like Serenity.

DRDs buzz around his feet, tweedling at him. One in particular, painted with the numbers 1812 seems particularly attached.

Judging what could be used and where the exits are.
Taking a stock of what's in the room. Well, what she recognized.
"What are those?" Jo was looking at the little yellow machine things.
